Mold design process

I. Basic design ideas:

According to the basic requirements of plastic parts and plastic process properties, carefully analyze the manufacturability of plastic parts, correctly determine the molding method and molding process, select the appropriate plastic injection molding machine, and then plastic mold design.

Second, the design needs attention:

1, consider the relationship between the process characteristics of plastic injection molding machine and mold design;

2, the rationality, economy, applicability and practical feasibility of the mold structure.

3, the structural shape and size of the correct, manufacturing process feasibility, material and heat treatment requirements and accuracy, view expression, size standards, shape position error and surface roughness and other technical requirements to meet international standards or national standards.

4, the design should take into account easy processing and maintenance, safety and reliability and other factors.

5, combined with the actual production conditions to consider the design of mold processing is easy, low cost.

6, for complex molds, consider the use of mechanical processing methods or special processing methods, how to assemble after processing, and have enough repair margin after mold test.

Third, plastic mold design process:

1. Accept the assignment:

There are generally three situations:

A: The customer gives the certified plastic parts drawing and its technical requirements (2D electronic drawing file, such as AUTOCAD, WORD, etc.). At this time, it is necessary to build a three-dimensional model (product design work), and then produce a two-dimensional engineering drawing.

B: The customer gives the certified plastic parts drawing and its technical requirements (3D electronic drawing file, such as PROE, UG, SOLIDWORKS, etc.). We just need a two-dimensional engineering drawing. (for common situations)

C: Customer given plastic parts sample, hand plate, physical. At this time, it is required to copy the number of surveying and mapping plastic parts, and then build a three-dimensional model, and then produce a two-dimensional engineering drawing.

2. Collect, analyze and digest the original data:

A: Analyze plastic parts

a: Clear design requirements of plastic parts, through the pattern to understand the material used in the plastic parts, design requirements, the use of complex shape and precision requirements of high plastic parts, assembly and appearance requirements.

b: Analyze the possibility and economy of the molding process of plastic parts

c: The production batch (production cycle, production efficiency) of plastic parts is clearly indicated in the general customer order.

d: Calculate the volume and weight of the plastic parts.

The above analysis is mainly to select the injection equipment, improve the utilization rate of the equipment, determine the number of mold cavities and the size of the mold feeding cavity.

B: Analyze the molding process of plastics: molding method, molding equipment, material model, mold category, etc.

3, master the actual production situation of the manufacturer:

A: The technical level of the factory operator

B: The manufacturer's existing equipment technology

C: The diameter of the positioning ring of the injection machine, the radius of the spherical surface of the nozzle front and the size of the aperture, the maximum injection amount, the injection pressure, the injection speed, the locking force, the maximum and minimum opening distance between the fixed side and the movable side, the projection area of the fixed plate and the movable plate and the location and size of the installation screw hole, the adjustable length of the pitch nut of the injection machine, the maximum opening stroke, the maximum opening stroke, the maximum opening distance of the injection machine. D: Ordering and processing methods of mold materials and accessories commonly used by manufacturers (preferably processed in our factory)

4, determine the mold structure:

The general ideal mold structure:

A: Technical requirements: geometrical shape, dimensional tolerance, surface roughness, etc. meet international standards.

B: Production economy requirements: low cost, high productivity, long service life of the mold, easy processing and manufacturing.

C: Product quality requirements: meet all requirements of customer drawings.
